Platinum - Her New Best Friend

Is jewellery a social symbol or pure love for a woman since it helps her make a style statement? Or, does she wear it because it highlights her feminine self? Now, whatever the answer be, given a chance, every woman would want to adorn herself with the precious jewels at all times. Ask a woman if she would ever share her jewellery with anyone, a courteous 'No' will follow.

It is because jewellery (read: not diamond) is apparently her best friend. And believe us or not, 'diamonds are forever' is being secretly replaced by platinum, the new-found-friend. Read through to know the reasons why it is the platinum era for women.

Gold price is Skyrocketing

Since we are talking about jewellery, all of us are shocked with soaring price of gold. It is skyrocketing and burning holes in every possible buyer's pocket. One has to think a dozen times before setting the foot in the market and steer away from the persuasive skills of jewellers. But, all is not lost and there is still a cloud with a silver lining, literally!

You now have platinum that can replace your jewellery cabinet which can make a fashion statement with equal aplomb. Though platinum's re-sale value is not as appealing as gold's, women are still buying platinum, even if it is on an experimental basis.

Works well with both Indian and Western Outfits

Whether it is a saree or a salwaar-kameez or a business suit, platinum sure has its signature value and in this regard is indeed an intelligent choice. In terms of investment, of course, gold is an invaluable asset but can you wear it with your shirt and trousers? Will you not prefer wearing other precious gems that match your clothes? And, this is where platinum makes the 'red carpet' entry. It is uber-chic!

Science has it and women acknowledge it!

Read it to believe it.
  • Platinum is 95 per cent pure unlike 18K gold which is only 75 per cent pure.
  • It requires less maintenance and is scratch resistant.
  • It is naturally white in colour and does not tarnish (corrosion resistant) over a period of time.
  • It does not cause allergic reactions.
Now, that we have sung our song in praise of platinum, let us make a shift and make jewellery buying a win-win for our women friends. Didn't Marilyn Monroe in the movie 'Gentlemen prefer Blondes' sang 'Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend' and the world went gaga over it. No, we are not asking you to go on a diamond buying spree. If you want to pamper yourself, you can invest money in buying a platinum band with diamonds in it, making it a win-win situation.
